Are You Ready For Equine Affaire?
What You Need To Know!
Equine Affaire will be held November 6-9, and while the Kentucky Defender 3 Day Event may be called the best weekend of the year, this event is pretty darn fun and should be on every horse lovers list to attend!

The event is held twice a year, in the fall in Springfield, Ma., at the Big E, and in the spring in Columbus, Ohio. I began attending years ago, as the U.S. rep for Hilton Herbs and it was an event I looked forward to every year. There are horse clinicians and demonstrations, guest speakers on a variety of topics, horse adoptions, and shopping…everything you need for your horse you will find here. When I was working the Hilton Herbs booth, which was right next to the Dark Horse Chocolates booth…talk about being in a good location…we had repeat customers who told us that this event was their big shopping event of the year and they made the bulk of their purchases during this time! Whether shopping for chocolates, barns, schools, tack, supplements, art, gifts, books, horse shopping or even purchasing a horse trailer, this is the place to get it all done in 4 days ( I almost bought a horse trailer last year, but reality set in….I mean, the trailer factory is 5 miles from my house in Florida…even though I have family in New England, did I really want to make a special trip to pick it up?)
The list of presenters/clinicians are from every discipline and this year the lineup includes legendary eventer Phyllis Dawson, international show jumper Gaby Reutter, Biomechanics instructor Wendy Murdoch and Dressage Master Vitor Silva. Oh! And me! I have been asked back again this year, and I will be speaking on two topics this year: How To Be A Good Boarder and Disaster Planning.
My speaking schedule is:
Friday, November 7: Mallory South Equine Fundamentals Forum 10:00-10;30 AM: How To Be A Good Boarder
Friday, November 7, Mallory North Demo Ring 4:00-5:00: Disaster Planning For Horse Owners: How To Be Prepared For The Unexpected
In addition to being a guest speaker, I will be joining 6 other wonderful authors at booth 814 in the Better Living Center, from Thursday through Sunday. I will have books for sale, as well as my journals, laminated resource guide and t-shirts featuring my Have You Hugged Your Horse logo! And, if you mention my blog, I will have a goodie bag of swag to give you!

Also, be sure to check out my daughter and son-in-law’s booth, The Pegasus App. If you compete or manage horseshows or clinics, you definitely want to see how The Pegasus App is revolutionizing horse show management software! Their sponsored rider, International show jumper Gaby Reutter will be popping in at their booth for Meet and Greets as well, so be sure to find your way to their booth in the Mallory building!
