The Annual Fire Safety Blog
Happy Halloween!
Are you dressing your horse up for the ghoulish event? Or did you do so recently? I love seeing the photos from horse shows that offer costume classes! The last time I rode my horse in a costume was on my beloved Tucker, for an OPRC (Old People’s Riding Club) event, and I hate to admit it, but our costume was the same as when I had done so the time before that…as a teenager, so many moons ago! Tucker was black, so it was easy to paint white stripes on him to turn him into a zebra, and I donned a cave woman’s look. As a teenager, I had a flea-bitten grey, and did the exact same thing, except that I painted black stripes on Sir Tally. I mean, if it worked the first time….
I am off to Equine Affaire next week, as I mentioned in my last blog. Please stop by and say hi if you are there and let me know you follow my blog or see me on social media and I will have a goodie bag for you! I will be offering books, journals, t-shirts, emergency ID for horses and my laminated resource guide for sale. Look for me at booth 814 in the Better Living Center!

My Equine Affaire Schedule
Ok, on to other important stuff! Sadly, there have been several barn fires this past week, resulting in the death of horses. So please, read my fire safety blog and create a fire safety plan for your barn. Your horse’s life may depend upon it. Here is a link, which will give you the links to the multi-part series: Fire Prevention In Barns
My thoughts and prayers go out to the good people and the animals of Jamaica. My son and daughter-in-law were married on the island and it holds a special place in our hearts.
Don’t forget to hug your horse!
